Ultra-modern facilities unveiled at Chester
Following a great deal of anticipation, University of Chester recently unveiled a brand new, state-of-the-art £5 million building, which now acts as a focal point for its Chester campus.
The completion of the Binks Building adds a host of new, ultra-modern conference facilities to established centres such as Molloy Hall, the Beswick Building, the Downes Sports Hall and the Gladstone Conference Centre. Indeed, the successful completion of this project means that the University portfolio now boasts an additional two brand new conference theatres of 340 and 160 seat capacities, a variety of syndicate rooms, a state-of-the-art computer suite and a dining area capable of accommodating 150 delegates.
All in all, this development encompasses an exciting, new addition to the conference facilities Chester has to offer, and it probably comes as no surprise that the Conference Office has already seen a high level of demand for these facilities. As a matter of fact, the venue has recently hosted a number of high profile events, including, appropriately, sessions from the ‘creativity’ themed 2004 Annual Conference of the Association for Information Technology in Teacher Education (ITTE).
Richard Bennett, ITTE Conference Organiser and Senior Lecturer in Education at the University, is delighted with the new building. He said, ‘the conference was a great success, and we had lots of positive comments from our delegates. They particularly mentioned the high quality facilities in the Binks Building and the high level of care and support from all the University staff’. |
