A New Awakening
One of our final conferences this year, in late September, saw a visit by over 200 delegates for the Arboriculture Association’s 38th Annual Conference and AGM 2004 entitled ‘A New Awakening’.
This popular event included workshops, seminars and demonstrations in all aspects of Arboriculture and was staged primarily in the Binks Building. In addition, this year was also the 5th Associated Utility Supplies (AUS) Utility Skills Competition, and Chester proved to be superb venue for what was the closest contest yet. During the competition, 36 competitors forming 12 teams from across the UK fought it out on the sports field over a specially constructed course which incorporated 2 of the Universities mature trees!
Paul Hornby, AUS Sales Director said, ‘The facilities and hospitality afforded to the competitors and spectators was excellent, and contributed to a most memorable day!’ |
