Launch of chesterconferences.com

After approximately three months in the pipeline, the Conference Office is proud to announce the launch of its new website - www.chesterconferences.com.

The development of the new-look site, a collaboration between the Conference Office and the Web team, has been a detailed process. At an initial consultation it was agreed that the overall look and feel of the site needed to be corporate in nature, and should reflect the strong brand image that was consistent with printed materials that had already been produced. Following this, an analysis of competitors, and reviews of the best existing sites were undertaken, and fed into the design process. It was also decided at this stage that the site should be independent of the main University website, due to the distinctly commercial nature of the offices activities. As a result, an address was purchased, and the site was given its unique domain name.

Now the site is fully operational, it caters for two distinct areas – ‘all year’ and ‘vacation’ conferences. The overall objectives of the site are to entice visitors into making personal contact, and to provide a taster of our extensive facilities, while remaining user friendly, informative, interesting and functional. We have also taken advantage of this opportunity to include impressive new facilities such as the Binks Building, and the site has been entered for the annual ‘Venuemasters Awards’ for best HE Conference website 2004.
