Our wide range of sporting facilities, which are available for use by conference delegates, includes - pitches for both summer and winter sports, a floodlit all-weather pitch, two glass-backed squash courts, a 25 metre indoor swimming pool, a gymnasium, a fitness suite and a relaxing sauna and solarium.

Fitness Centre

The Fitness Centre was officially opened by Michael Owen and Rick Parry on the 16th January 2003 after the completion of an extensive refurbishment and refit. The centre now boasts a range of equipment and services second to none. It offers an all encompassing range of modern, easily accessible machines, free weights and much more besides!

Sports Hall

The Sports Hall was opened in 1998 and is an ultra modern purpose built sporting venue. It can be used for a variety of sports including Basketball, Netball, Badminton, Volleyball and various other indoor athletic activities.

All Weather Pitch

The all weather pitch is situated in the centre of the Chester campus, and its high quality surface and flood light facilities allow sporting activities to continue all year round. Many of the most popular sports clubs such as Hockey and Football make use of this facility during term time.

Swimming Pool

Our 25 metre, 5 lane pool has a maximum depth of 3.5m, and offers a relaxing, stress free atmosphere. Regular users of the pool have commented on its ‘light and airy’ feel, ‘clear water’ and ‘comfortable temperature’.

Dance Studio/Gymnasium

The gymnasium has recently been upgraded, and now, with a brand new floor and mirrored wall, it is now the perfect environment for Dance, Drama, Martial Arts and Gymnastics. In addition, this versatile space can host ‘boxercise’ lessons, Judo, Yoga and health and fitness classes.

Squash Courts

We also offer two glass backed squash courts on campus that can be booked out. These facilities have hosted a range of competitions in the past, from beginner to BUSA level.
